Shipping & Returns
If you're based in the U.S., free shipping normally takes anywhere from 2-6 days via FedEx (we have warehouses in SF and NYC).
For expedited deliveries, we do have a faster and fastest express options that are 1-2 days and 3-4 day shipping for $25 and $15 respectively.
If you're based internationally, we ship all of our international packages via FedEx Priority and it can take anywhere from 3-5 days for your bag to arrive.
Due to limited supply, we can only offer 1 bag per person.
All 50 states of the U.S.A. We also ship to Canada, parts of Europe, Asia, and Australia. If you're in a country that you don't see on our shipping page, send us an email at email@example.com and we'll make it work!
Shipping is free for all customers in the United States. If you live outside of the U.S., you'll have to cover a portion of the shipping cost (which includes taxes) but you won’t have to pay anything when you receive your bag.
We offer priority 2-5 day international shipping via DHL to our international customers. Our international shipping rates include all duties and taxes:

We want you to love your bag and know it’s something you’d want to carry everyday, so we offer a 30 day trial. Once you receive your bag, you’re free to work with it, speed through TSA, bring it to that new coffee shop you’ve been wanting to try, or do anything you’d like with the product. If at any point during the 30 days you don’t feel like it’s a good fit, we’ll send you a shipping label and a full refund, no questions asked. To start the returns process, click here.
All U.S. customers will get a free return shipping label on us, and if you’re international you’ll just have to cover the shipping fee cost.
Your bag should fit you and your items perfectly! If you find that your bag is too big or too small or if you would like to try a different hardware color, we offer free exchanges. We'll send you a free shipping label as well as send out your replacement bag. Send us an email at email@example.com and let us know which bag you'd like to make an exchange for!
If your bag is the right size but the straps are too long for your frame, we also offer a tailoring service where we'll adjust the straps for you, free of charge. To have your bag straps shortened, send us an email and we'll take care of it within a few business days.
We’ll cover your bag, for life! That means each bag is guaranteed by a limited lifetime warranty that covers any manufacturing defects and damages to zippers, leather, straps, and any functional features that you need to carry your bag.
If there are any issues, we’ll either fix them to you or send you a new bag.
We use high quality, full grain-leather made from a reputable tannery in Taiwan. The zippers are from YKK, a Japanese manufacturer known for quality zippers that last a lifetime. Both the Nylon exterior and interior polyester twill are sourced from a supplier in Taiwan. We added a water-proof layer of coating to all of our materials so that you don’t have to worry about moving around in a drizzle.
Because we use full grain leather, no two bags are made the same way. This means there might be slight variations in the way your bag looks from the ones we use in the photos. But, we guarantee the same level of quality and craftsmanship for all of our products.
Our leather bags cost the same to make as brands that sell them for 3-4 times the price of ours. Since we sell directly to you, there's no added markup that you normally pay for brands that sell in retail stores.
The Classic Backpack can fit up to a 15” Macbook Pro in the laptop compartment while The Daypack can fit up to a 13" laptop (even after we added a double layer of padding to keep it safe). The inside compartment holds around 17L of volume, which we’ve found can store a pair of shoes, clothes, and the smaller items you’d carry every day. The front pocket is great for those small items that you need quick access to, like gum, subway cards, and everything in between.

The bags are assembled by a manufacturer in Shenzhen that also makes bags for the largest luxury brands. It took us a long time to convince this manufacturer to work with us (we’re by far their smallest customer at the moment), but we’re really excited about their attention to detail and the quality of products they make.
Our products are made to last. But to make sure it looks as good as new for a long time, we recommend wetting a cloth in warm water and gently wiping the surface of the leather every month or so or to remove any stains or scratches.
If you’re not actively using the bag, it’s best to store it in the dustbag we provide or in a cool location, away from sunlight.
We created ISM with the vision of making beautiful, useful tools that help you work better. So far, we have two backpack styles, one bottle, and one charger. Get a bag with a bottle and charger. Or just with a bottle. Or charger. Save and customize on your own bundle.
At the moment, mainly on our website and select online retailers like Opumo, or Garmentory. One of the reasons we’re able to offer our bags at this price is because we don’t sell to stores and don't have to add in margins to make up for that wholesale price.
Our founder, Justin, came up with the idea for ISM as a frustrated freelancer working out of coffee shops who wanted a better solution to his everyday carry. Now we’re a small team of creatives based out of San Francisco.
One of the most fulfilling things for us is just the act of creating something new, even if it doesn't work out. It's what gives us energy to keep going through the ups and downs of starting a company. Some of our side projects are things like Stock Blocked.
